Welcome aboard the USS Avalon, a STARFLEET International chapter based in the South West of England, where a shared love of Star Trek brings people together in a relaxed, friendly setting.

The Avalon is a social chapter for fans of Star Trek in all its eras, from the originals through to newer series. While we’re part of STARFLEET International, what matters most to us is the community we’ve built, people who enjoy good conversation, shared interests, and spending time with others who get why Star Trek still matters.

What we do is deliberately varied. Some of our activities are thoughtful and discussion-based, others are creative or just for fun. You’ll find things like watch-alongs, quizzes, role-play, collaborative projects, and the occasional deep dive into Trek lore. There’s no expectation to be involved in everything. People take part in whatever way suits them.

The Avalon is an inclusive and welcoming group. You don’t need encyclopaedic knowledge, a uniform, or any prior experience with STARFLEET, just an interest in Star Trek and a willingness to be part of a respectful, friendly community. Whether you’ve been a fan for decades or only recently discovered the franchise, you’ll be made to feel at home.

Although we mainly operate online, we also plan to hold regular in-person meet-ups across the South West. Our members are very real people from the region, the wider UK, and beyond. Friendships develop naturally, conversations continue outside of events, and everyone is encouraged to contribute in their own way.
